How many more reports do we need telling us the current immigration system is a shambles? It’s costing a fortune and frankly, nobody seems to know who’s coming or going half the time. We need a system that’s clear, fair, and works for Britain.
My idea is simple: points-based, but with a twist. We bring in skilled workers and those filling critical national shortages, just like they talk about now. But instead of just skills, we also heavily weigh factors like regional need and a commitment to integrate. Someone who wants to work in, say, rural Yorkshire and has family already here, gets a boost. Someone who’s going to settle in a city already overflowing with their countrymen, maybe not so much. It’s about building communities, not just filling quotas.
And for those who don't qualify through skills or regional need, but still want to come, we introduce a bond system.
