Why are we still letting people pick our skilled workers for us?

Why are we still letting the Home Office decide who comes into Wales to fill vital jobs? It's like asking a chef in London to pick the ingredients for a bara brith in Aberystwyth. They just don't get what's needed on the ground here.

Our proposal is simple: Wales needs its own points-based immigration system, tailored to our specific needs. We'd prioritise sectors crying out for skilled labour – healthcare, engineering, renewable energy, and agriculture. Imagine having nurses trained in Cardiff, or engineers working on the M4 relief road, without needing permission from some anonymous official in Slough.

This isn't about closing borders; it's about taking control. We can attract the people we need to build our economy and strengthen our communities, ensuring they integrate and contribute fully. Think of it as a Welsh welcome, managed by Welsh people, for the benefit of Wales.
