I'm sick to death of hearing about people getting burgled or worse, and the scumbags who did it get a slap on the wrist. It's a joke. You work hard for your stuff, you pay your taxes, and then some lowlife can just break in and ruin everything, knowing they'll probably be back out on the street before you've even had your cuppa. It makes you feel completely powerless.
We need to get tough. Sentences should actually mean something again. If you commit a serious crime, especially one involving violence or theft from someone's home, you should expect to spend a good chunk of time inside. None of this community service nonsense for proper offences. And those foreign criminals? They should be kicked out the second they’re convicted, not given another chance.
And what about the police?
