Stop Letting Them In So Easily, But Treat Those Here Better

We need to drastically tighten border controls and introduce a points-based system that prioritises skilled workers and those with immediate family already settled here. The current system is clearly not working and is placing an unsustainable strain on public services. Frankly, it’s a mess and no one seems to have a grip on it.

Those who are already here legally, especially those who have been working and contributing for years, should have their status clarified quickly and without endless bureaucracy. We can’t keep people in limbo indefinitely, it’s not humane and it doesn’t benefit anyone. We also need to ensure that employers are held accountable for hiring undocumented workers, as this undercuts wages for everyone else.

The resources saved from less uncontrolled immigration could be redirected towards essential services like social care, which is crying out for more funding.
