Investing in Britain, Not Blaming Newcomers

It’s understandable that people are worried about their living standards. The cost of living crisis is real, and many are feeling the squeeze. But pointing the finger at immigrants is a simplistic and frankly lazy solution that ignores the bigger picture. Our public services have been underfunded for years, long before recent immigration levels, and our economy needs serious investment, not scapegoats.

We need to be honest about what’s actually straining our services. It’s decades of underinvestment and policies that have favoured the few over the many. Instead of building walls, we should be building better infrastructure, more affordable housing, and ensuring our public services are properly funded to cope with the needs of everyone in our society, both long-term residents and new arrivals.

This isn’t about apologising for wanting to look after people; it’s about recognising that a thriving society benefits everyone.
