Enough with the endless Ofsted meddling, let schools actually teach!

It drives me mad how much time teachers waste jumping through hoops for Ofsted. Every year it’s a new initiative, a new way to measure things that can’t really be measured. It’s all about ticking boxes and making the inspectors happy, not about giving kids a decent education or letting teachers actually teach. My daughter, the teacher, is always complaining about the paperwork. It’s ridiculous.

We need to scrap Ofsted as it stands and give headteachers more autonomy. Let them focus on running their schools and nurturing their staff. Instead of constant inspections, maybe a peer review system every few years. Let experienced teachers visit other schools and offer practical advice, not just criticism. If a school is genuinely failing, there are other ways to find out and help without all this bureaucracy.

The money spent on Ofsted inspectors and their reports could be much better used elsewhere.
