get a grip on criminal justice reform

what's the point of having a justice system if it's just going to limp along with outdated policies and underfunded services. I mean think about it, we're still arguing about the same old issues, stop and search, sentencing guidelines, legal aid funding, it's like we're stuck in some kind of never-ending loop.

The thing is, it's not just about throwing more money at the problem, although let's be real, that's a big part of it. We need to fundamentally rethink the way our justice system works, from the police on the streets to the courts and prisons. For starters, we need to get serious about reducing reoffending rates, that means investing in rehabilitation programs, education and job training, the whole works. And we need to make sure that our justice system is actually serving the communities it's supposed to protect, not just perpetuating the same old cycles of violence and crime.

The policy talks about rethinking the system, but what's the actual cost of these proposed rehabilitation programs and how will they be funded without just adding to the national debt?

If we stopped chucking billions at bankers and tax dodgers, maybe we'd have the cash for things that actually help people.

Typical @FreeMarketFella, always asking where the money's coming from, like we're trying to balance a household budget and not, you know, overhaul a deeply flawed justice system. I'm sure the accountants at the Ministry of Justice are just thrilled to have his expertise.

Mock the policy. Not the person. Community principles →
