I'm proposing we drastically simplify our immigration system by scrapping most of the red tape and quotas that stifle economic growth. This is necessary because our current system is a mess, with applicants waiting years for a decision and businesses struggling to find the skilled workers they need. It's a classic example of government overreach, where bureaucrats are more concerned with following procedure than achieving actual results.
We need to move towards a more streamlined system, where immigration is based on the needs of the economy rather than arbitrary quotas. This would mean introducing a points-based system, where applicants are judged on their skills, qualifications, and ability to contribute to the economy. It's not rocket science, and countries like Australia and Canada have been doing it successfully for years.
