The idea of investing in our neighbourhoods is spot on, but I think we need to be smarter about where that investment goes. Focusing solely on green energy infrastructure, while good, misses a crucial piece of the puzzle for people in communities like mine. What good are solar panels if kids don't have safe places to go after school or if parents are struggling to put food on the table? We need to link these big infrastructure projects directly to tangible benefits for families and young people, not just abstract environmental goals.

My focus would be on retrofitting existing housing stock with energy efficiency measures alongside green tech, and making sure local communities, especially schools and youth centres, are the direct beneficiaries.
