Why Are We Still Giving Aid To Countries That Hates Us?

What's the point of sending our hard-earned cash overseas to governments that openly condemn our values or, worse, actively work against our interests? It feels like we're funding our own opposition, and frankly, that's just daft. We pour money into development programs, humanitarian aid, and security assistance, only to see it misused, siphoned off by corrupt regimes, or directed towards anti-Western propaganda. It’s a cycle that benefits diplomats and aid bureaucrats more than the actual people we claim to want to help, and it certainly doesn't make us any safer.

My proposal is simple: we need to radically rethink who we give aid to, and why. Aid should be a tool of strategic diplomacy, not a blank cheque. We should focus our resources on nations that are genuine partners, sharing democratic values and aligning with our foreign policy objectives.
