Enough with the potholes! Time to invest properly in our roads, not just patch them up.

I was driving home from school last week, the same route I take every single day, and hit a pothole that was so deep it felt like I’d driven into a crater. Nearly took my wheel off. It’s not just me; parents are always complaining about the state of the roads around the school, and how dangerous it is for the kids cycling or walking. It’s a disgrace, frankly.

This constant patching is a waste of money and just doesn’t work. We need a proper, long-term plan to resurface our main roads and actually fix the underlying issues that cause the damage in the first place, rather than just sticking a bit of tar in a hole that’ll be back next winter. It’s about time we had a transport policy that prioritises the safety and everyday lives of people, not just quick fixes that fall apart.
