Scrap outdated laws blocking deportations

I think we should repeal or heavily amend outdated legislation that prevents the deportation of serious offenders, it's just common sense. This would allow us to get rid of people who have committed heinous crimes and are clearly not welcome in our country.

We've got a situation where someone like Shabir Ahmed is still in the UK because of some old law that doesn't reflect modern values or public opinion, it's ridiculous. The law needs to be updated to reflect the fact that we don't want to harbour serious criminals, especially those who have preyed on vulnerable people.

This isn't about being soft on crime or hard on human rights, it's about being practical and realistic. If someone has been convicted of a serious offence and has no right to be in the country, they should be deported, simple as that.
