Stop Letting Corporations Profit from Prison Labour

I'm proposing that we ban the use of prison labour for private companies, it's just not right that corporations are making a profit off the backs of people who are already being punished. This is needed because it's essentially a form of modern-day slavery, where people are being forced to work for pennies while companies reap the benefits. It's also not like these jobs are actually helping prisoners learn skills or anything, they're just being exploited for cheap labour.

We need to stop this because it's not only morally wrong, but it's also not helping prisoners rehabilitate or become productive members of society when they're released. Instead, it's just creating a cycle of exploitation and poverty. If companies want to hire people to do these jobs, they should be paying a fair wage and providing actual training and support, not just using prisoners as a way to cut costs.

What happens to the prisoners who are currently working in these programmes, will they be left without any form of occupation or training, potentially making their rehabilitation even more difficult?
