Council needs to sort out the buses, it’s not rocket science!

I was waiting for the number 8 bus the other day, late for a meeting with a housing charity, and it just never came. The app said it was five minutes away for twenty minutes, then it just vanished. Ended up having to get a taxi, which I really couldn’t afford. This kind of thing happens all the time, and it’s people like me, who rely on public transport, who suffer. It’s not just inconvenient, it’s actively making it harder for people to get to work, access services, or just live their lives.

We need a complete overhaul of the bus system, not these piecemeal changes the council keeps talking about. First off, reliable real-time tracking is non-negotiable. If the app says a bus is coming, it needs to actually be coming. That means better communication with the bus companies and proper penalties if they aren’t meeting service levels.
