Enough with the virtue signalling, let's sort out who actually needs help.

I'm just fed up with the endless arguments about immigration. It feels like we're going in circles, with people on one side screaming about open borders and the other demanding we shut everything down. Frankly, neither extreme is working and it’s leaving people who genuinely need support in limbo, while also causing real strain on our services. It’s not sustainable and it’s not compassionate.

We need a system that prioritises those genuinely fleeing persecution and war, but also one that is clear about who we can reasonably accommodate. This means properly funding and streamlining the asylum application process so decisions are made faster, and those who are granted leave to remain can integrate properly. It also means having a robust but fair system for returning those whose claims are rejected, and tackling the criminal gangs who exploit vulnerable people.
