Stop subsidising fossil fuels already! It's 2024, not 1974.

We need to immediately stop all government subsidies and tax breaks for fossil fuel companies. It’s baffling that we’re still propping up industries that are actively destroying the planet, especially when renewable energy is now cheaper and cleaner. This money could be far better used to accelerate the transition to green energy sources and support communities affected by this shift.

The justification for these subsidies has always been about energy security and jobs, but that argument is outdated. The boom in solar, wind, and battery storage technology means we can build a secure, affordable energy system that doesn't rely on polluting fuels. Plus, the jobs created in the green sector are growing rapidly. We just need the political will to redirect investment.
