I'm proposing we get rid of the green levy on energy bills, it's a stealth tax that's hitting households hard and not even achieving its supposed goal of reducing carbon emissions. This levy is just another example of the government trying to dictate how we live our lives and picking our pockets in the process. It's a regressive tax that hurts the poor and the elderly the most, who already struggle to pay their energy bills.
The green levy is supposed to fund renewable energy projects and energy efficiency schemes, but in reality it's just a slush fund for the government to waste on pet projects. I've read somewhere that a significant portion of the money collected from the levy is actually spent on administrative costs, not on actual projects that benefit the environment. It's a classic case of government inefficiency and bureaucratic waste.
