Enough already, we need to stop governments from spying on everything we do online.

My proposal is to enshrine a fundamental right to digital privacy, making any government surveillance of personal online communications illegal without a specific, time-limited warrant issued by an independent judicial body based on probable cause of serious criminal activity. This isn't about hiding from the law; it's about stopping the wholesale collection of data on innocent citizens.

We've seen time and again how easily this data can be misused, leaked, or simply used to build profiles on people who have done nothing wrong. It creates a chilling effect, where people self-censor for fear of being misinterpreted or flagged by some algorithm. It’s fundamentally incompatible with the idea of a free society when your every click and message could be monitored.
