I'm so fed up with seeing those giant white windmills popping up everywhere. They're an eyesore, they don't provide reliable power when the wind isn't blowing, and frankly, I think we've been sold a pup on them being the answer to all our problems. My husband's bakery is already struggling with rising energy bills, and I dread to think what another hike would do. We need practical solutions, not just virtue signalling.
We should be investing seriously in nuclear power. It’s a proven technology, it provides consistent, clean energy, and it doesn't blight the landscape or depend on the weather. Building new nuclear plants, and making sure the existing ones are maintained properly, should be the absolute priority. It’s the only way to guarantee a steady supply of power for homes and businesses like my husband’s bakery, and it won’t leave us shivering in the dark when there’s a calm spell.
