Stop Wasting Our Money Abroad – Focus on Britain and Real Trade, Not Handouts

I was looking at some government figures the other day, as you do, and the sheer amount of money we still send overseas in foreign aid is just staggering. We're talking billions every year, often to countries that don't seem to have our best interests at heart, or worse, where it just vanishes into the pockets of the ruling elite. It makes you wonder what the point is, really, when we have plenty of issues here at home that could use those funds.

My view is that our foreign policy should be entirely geared towards securing tangible benefits for the British people and British businesses. That means prioritising direct trade agreements, securing critical supply chains, and fostering alliances with nations who are genuinely aligned with our economic and security interests. It’s about mutual benefit, not just throwing money at problems and hoping for the best.
