I was reading about the state of Scotland's railways and it got me thinking about the NHS, we're always talking about the railways being a mess but what about our healthcare system. I work in emergency medicine and I see the strain the system is under every day, it's not just about funding, it's about the people on the ground.
We need to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, the railways are just one part of a larger problem, the erosion of public services. I'm not just talking about the railways, I'm talking about our schools, our hospitals, our social care system. We need to think about how we can make these services work for everyone, not just those who can afford it.
As a doctor, I've seen the impact of delayed or cancelled operations, it's not just inconvenient, it's life or death.
