The state shouldn't be involved in our most personal choices. It's about individual liberty, pure and simple.

It genuinely baffles me how much time politicians spend debating things that are fundamentally none of their business. The sheer hand-wringing over someone's right to decide their own end is just another example of government trying to regulate every aspect of our lives. We talk about personal freedom, but then when it comes to the ultimate decision about one's own existence, suddenly the state wants to act as some kind of moral arbiter. It’s patronising and deeply unhelpful.

My view is simple: if an individual has full mental capacity and is facing an irreversible, debilitating condition, they should have the absolute right to make choices about their own demise. This isn't a decision for committees or public referendums; it's a private, deeply personal matter that only the individual can truly understand.
