Benefits system needs a shake-up: less hand-outs, more help into work

My proposal is to overhaul the existing social welfare system to significantly reduce long-term dependency on benefits, particularly housing benefits, by implementing stricter conditions for receipt and stronger incentives for employment. We need to make sure that the system is a temporary safety net, not a permanent fixture in people's lives.

The current system is frankly unsustainable and a drain on the public purse. We've got people who could be working relying on handouts, while others are busting a gut to pay their taxes every month. We need to free up funds for things that actually matter, like properly funding our defence and making sure our infrastructure isn't crumbling. It’s about ensuring value for money for the taxpayer, plain and simple.
