Why are we still using a system that gives more power to rural Tory voters than urban Labour ones?

What’s the point of everyone having a vote if some votes just matter more than others? We’ve got these constituencies that are miles apart, with barely anyone in them, and then others packed with thousands of people. It’s madness. You can have a Tory MP representing a few thousand voters in the Highlands while thousands of people in Glasgow have their voices drowned out. It’s like they’ve designed the system to keep certain people in power and others out.

My proposal is pretty simple, honestly. We need to ditch the current constituency map and create a system of proportional representation based on regions. Think of it like this: instead of these weirdly shaped boxes all over the place, we divide Scotland into maybe five or six larger regions. Then, parties get seats in that region based on the overall percentage of votes they get within that region.
