Pollution Isn't a Market Opportunity

I'm not sold on the idea that we should be relying on the market to clean up pollution, it seems like we're just passing the buck to corporations and hoping for the best. The original idea of introducing tradeable pollution permits might sound good on paper, but I think it's a bit simplistic.

We need to take a more holistic approach to tackling pollution, one that doesn't just focus on the financial incentives for companies. For starters, we should be investing more in public transport and making it easier for people to get around without relying on cars. This would not only reduce emissions but also improve air quality in our cities.

I also think we need to be looking at the role of government in regulating pollution, rather than just leaving it to the market. We need stricter regulations and enforcement, not just a system of fines and penalties.
