Sort Out Our NHS
What's the point of having a national health service if you can't even get a doctor's appointment without waiting weeks, I mean come on. I've been saying it for years, the system's a mess and it's only getting worse. My proposal is to go back to basics, get more doctors and nurses on the ground, and stop all this nonsense about management and bureaucracy.
We need to stop throwing money at fancy new buildings and admin staff and start putting it where it matters, on the frontline. I've got a mate who's a nurse and she's always telling me about how understaffed they are, it's a miracle they get anything done. We need to make it easier for people to train as doctors and nurses, not harder, and we need to pay them a decent wage so they don't all bugger off to Australia as soon as they qualify.
I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but we need to take a long hard look at our priorities.
Sort Out Our Hospitals Already
I was at the hospital in Scunthorpe last week visiting my mate Dave, he's been in for a knee op, and the state of the place was shocking. The wards were understaffed, the equipment was outdated, and the waiting times were ridiculous. I saw people waiting in corridors on trolleys, it was like a scene from a disaster movie.
I started thinking, how can this be happening in our country, we're supposed to have a good healthcare system, but it seems like it's all falling apart. I've been driving a lorry for thirty years, I've paid my taxes, I've done my bit, and this is what I get in return. It's not just about the money, it's about the people, the nurses, the doctors, they're the ones who are suffering, they're the ones who are overworked and underpaid.
We need to sort out our priorities, we need to start investing in our healthcare system, we need to start looking after our own people.
Politicians bickering while the country's going to rack and ruin. What a surprise.
Why do we even bother with these by-elections? It's all the same old waffle from people who've never done a day's honest work in their lives. They talk about the issues, but they never actually fix anything. Just more hot air and promises that go nowhere.
We need common sense back. The people running this country seem to have forgotten who actually pays the bills. We need to sort out our own backyard before we start letting everyone and their dog in. Focus on getting our own people into decent jobs and apprenticeships. Brenda’s lad is still at home, can’t find anything worthwhile after leaving school. That’s the priority.
It’s not about being nasty, it’s about being sensible. We’ve got services stretched to breaking point. The NHS, schools, you name it. We need to get a grip on who’s coming in and why.
Sort Out Benefits For Our Own People First
I'm sick of seeing people who've never worked a day in their lives getting handed everything on a plate while my own kid is struggling to find a decent apprenticeship. It's a joke, the benefits system is broken and it's time someone did something about it. I've been driving a lorry for thirty years, paying my taxes, and I'm fed up with seeing my money being wasted on people who don't deserve it.
I'd change the whole system so that people who've contributed get priority, it's simple. If you've worked and paid in, you should get help when you need it, but if you've never lifted a finger, don't expect a free ride. I'm not saying we should be heartless, but we need to look after our own first. I've seen it time and time again, people coming over here, getting benefits straight away, and it's just not fair on people like me who've been paying in for years.
