We need to bring back some form of compulsory national service for all 18-year-olds, boys and girls. This isn’t about sending kids off to war, it’s about discipline, skills, and a bit of respect for the country that’s done so much for them. They’ve had it too easy, growing up with phones and video games, with no idea about hard work or serving something bigger than themselves.
This service could involve a mix of options. Some might go into the armed forces for a year, learning the basics of defence and what it means to be part of something. Others could do a year with the police, helping communities, or work on infrastructure projects that actually benefit Britain, like fixing roads or helping build new houses. It’s about giving them a taste of real life, teaching them practical skills they can use afterwards, whether that’s in a trade or further education.
