I'm fed up with all this fuss about climate change being some kind of global problem that we can't do anything about. We need to stop blaming ourselves and start taking control of our own destiny. The EU's not going to save us, and neither is anyone else.
We should be investing in our own climate science, not just following what the rest of the world is doing. And we should be doing it with British companies and British workers, not just handing over cash to whoever claims to have a solution. I see it every day in the DIY store, people want to buy British, they want to support our own economy.
This isn't about being isolationist, it's about being proud of who we are and what we can achieve. We don't need to be dictated to by the rest of the world, we can make our own decisions and find our own solutions.

Their approach has been to focus on innovation and R&D, rather than just following the crowd, and it's paid off - they're now leaders in fields like hydrogen fuel cells. We could be doing the same, instead of just trying to meet some arbitrary EU standard. This would effect our economy in a positive way, by creating new industries and jobs.
