Scrap the Council's ghastly concrete 'public art' and plant trees instead!

I was walking past the old market site the other day, you know, the one they've tarted up with that ridiculously expensive metal monstrosity? Honestly, it just looks like a giant rusty paperclip. All that money, and what do we get? A blight on the landscape. Meanwhile, just down the road, we’ve got a patch of wasteland that could be a proper community garden, or at least some decent trees.

This council seems to think “improving the environment” means commissioning bizarre sculptures that cost a fortune and serve no purpose. What we actually need is greenery. Real, living greenery that cleans the air, provides shade, and makes the place look less like a brutalist afterthought. Imagine if that ‘art’ budget went towards planting more mature trees in places like Stockwell and Brixton, creating proper green corridors instead of these sterile plazas.
