Proportional Representation is a joke, let’s actually fix things

We should get rid of the House of Lords and replace it with a directly elected chamber based on regional representation, with two members per county. It’s a total waste of money having all those Lords and Ladies who nobody voted for and most of us don't even know what they do. They just rubber stamp whatever the Commons decides or gets in the way.

This new chamber would make sure every part of the country has a proper voice. Right now, they're always banging on about London and the South East, but what about us up here in the North East? We’ve got our own issues and our own way of doing things. Having two people elected for every county, like Northumberland or Durham, would mean they’d have to listen to us. They’d be accountable directly to us, not just their party bosses.

The elections would be simple, no messing about with complicated lists or anything. People vote for their county representatives.
