Why are we letting foreign companies make a killing while people here freeze? It’s madness. We need to take control back. My proposal is simple: a National Energy Security Fund. We use a portion of the profits from North Sea oil and gas – yes, the very stuff we’re still extracting – to invest directly in renewable energy projects right here in the UK. Think offshore wind farms off the coast of Yorkshire, solar farms on unused farmland, and proper investment in tidal power for places like the Humber.
This isn't about handouts, it's about building our own future. It means jobs for local lads and lasses, not just handing contracts to whoever’s cheapest overseas. It means energy security for towns like Grimsby, so we’re not at the mercy of global markets or some dictator’s whims. Imagine predictable energy prices, powered by British sunshine and wind.
