I’m so fed up with seeing kids being put through the wringer with endless tests. It feels like all they do now is prep for exams that don't really tell you anything useful about their actual ability or potential. My own kids have come home stressed out, saying they feel like they're just memorising facts to pass a test, not actually learning to think. It’s draining their creativity and making school feel like a chore, not an adventure.
We need to ditch the high-stakes testing culture and focus on a more holistic approach to education. Instead of cramming for exams, schools should be encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. Teachers need the freedom to tailor lessons to individual student needs, not just to tick boxes for Ofsted or league tables. Imagine a system where we actually foster a love for learning, not just a fear of failure.

I think we need to look at the curriculum and see what's really important, instead of just churning out exam results, for example, I've seen kids who are brilliant at problem-solving but struggle with exams, and that's not being valued. The current system is narrowing down what it means to be intelligent or capable, and that's not doing anyone any favours.
