we should make all public transport free to use, funded by taxing big corporations and the wealthy, this would not only help the environment by reducing the number of cars on the road but also help low income families who struggle to pay for transport costs.
it's ridiculous that in a country as wealthy as the uk we still have people who can't afford to get to work or visit their families because of transport costs, and it's even more ridiculous that we're still relying on cars and fossil fuels to get around when we know how much damage they're causing to the planet.
making public transport free would also make our cities more livable, by reducing traffic and air pollution, and it would make it easier for people to get around without having to own a car, which would be a huge benefit for people like me who are trying to live more sustainably.
