energy not emergency services: invest in communities not cops

i get what they’re saying about needing to focus on community stuff instead of just policing. but calling it ‘green energy’ feels a bit tacked on. the real issue is that everything costs a fortune and people can’t afford to live, let alone pay huge energy bills.

we need a proper plan for energy that actually helps people. think community-owned solar farms, not just slapping panels on existing buildings which still leaves renters out. and local energy grids are great, but they need to be run by the community, not just another private company making a profit. imagine if the money spent on police patrols actually went into insulating homes or setting up heat pump schemes.

and let's be real, this 'self-sufficient society' bit is nice, but it won't happen if people are still worried about getting evicted or if their benefits get cut.
