Scrap the soft justice nonsense

What's the point of having a justice system if it doesn't actually punish people for breaking the law, I mean think about it, we've got career criminals walking out of court with a slap on the wrist and a warning, it's absurd.

The problem is that the system is more concerned with rehabilitation than actual justice, which sounds nice in theory but doesn't exactly fill you with confidence when you're the victim of a crime. My proposal is to introduce mandatory minimum sentences for repeat offenders, so if you're caught committing the same crime multiple times, you know exactly what you're getting.

This would not only act as a deterrent, but it would also give victims and their families some sense of closure, knowing that the person who hurt them is actually being held accountable. I've seen it time and time again, people getting let off with a warning or a fine, and it's just not good enough, we need to take a tougher stance on crime.
