We need to freeze all new housing developments on designated green belt land immediately. This isn't about stopping people from getting homes, it's about protecting the areas we have left before they're all gone. Developers are just land-banking and slapping up shoddy houses wherever they can, and nobody seems to care about the impact on local communities or the countryside.
The current system lets builders get away with too much. They promise infrastructure that never materializes, overcrowd our schools and doctors' surgeries, and then leave us with a mess. We've seen it all before, haven't we? Build, build, build without any thought for what comes next. It’s time we put a stop to this relentless concreting over of our country. It’s not fair on the people who already live here and contribute to the community.
