Enough is Enough: Our Own People Need Homes First

With all due respect, this talk of banning foreign nationals from social housing is a start, but it doesn't go far enough. We need a clear, prioritised system that puts British citizens, particularly those who have contributed to this country for years, at the front of the queue for social housing. It's simply not sustainable to expect our already stretched resources to accommodate everyone.

My proposal is for a citizenship points system for social housing allocation. Applicants would be assessed based on factors such as length of UK residency, tax contributions, employment status, and any military service. This isn't about being unkind; it's about fiscal responsibility and ensuring our own citizens aren't disadvantaged in their own country. We have a duty to our own first.

This system would ensure that those who have demonstrably invested in Britain and its communities receive preference.
