Protecting Wales' Communities

I've been thinking about this issue a lot lately, living on the edge of the countryside in Powys, and it seems to me that the real problem isn't the people coming in, it's the lack of investment in our rural areas. We need to make sure our communities are strong enough to support everyone, not just the newcomers.

I'm not against people coming to Wales, but I think we need to make sure they're coming for the right reasons, and that they're able to contribute to our communities. We can't just have people turning up and expecting everything to be handed to them on a plate. But at the same time, we can't just shut the door and expect that to solve all our problems.

My proposal would be to set up a system where people who want to come to Wales have to apply from outside the country, and they have to demonstrate that they have a genuine connection to Wales, whether that's through family ties, language skills, or a job offer.
