Stop giving foreign aid to countries that don't even LIKE us

We watch in disbelief every single year as billions of pounds of our hard-earned money are shipped overseas to countries that wouldn't lift a finger to help us in our time of need.

We are told there is no "magic money tree" for our own public services, yet the taps are always turned on for foreign projects that offer no benefit to the British public.

While we are busy funding "green energy" initiatives in middle-income nations and "diversity programs" in distant lands, our own people are struggling just to keep the lights on. It is a national scandal that our pensioners are sitting in cold houses, wrapped in blankets, because they cannot afford the soaring cost of heating.

These are the very people who built this country, worked in our factories, and paid into the system for fifty years. They were promised a "cradle to grave" security that is now being sacrificed at the altar of international virtue signaling.

Meanwhile, take a walk down any high street in Britain and you will see the same depressing sight of boarded-up windows and "To Let" signs. Our local economies are being hollowed out because the investment they desperately need is being diverted into the pockets of corrupt foreign regimes and faceless international NGOs.

Our infrastructure is a joke, with roads so riddled with potholes that they look like they’ve been through a war zone. We are told there isn't enough money to resurface our streets or modernize our local transport, yet the government finds billions to send to nuclear-armed nations.

It is high time we remembered that charity starts at home, and it always should. We must immediately and permanently slash the foreign aid budget to 0.3% of GNI.

This simple, common-sense move would instantly free up billions of pounds that can be spent right here, on our own people and our own priorities. We need to stop pretending we can solve all the world’s problems when we can’t even fix the cracks in our own pavements.

Every penny of that clawed-back money should be ring-fenced for the British public. We should be using it to scrap the unfair taxes on energy, to bolster the Triple Lock, and to ensure no elderly person ever has to choose between a hot meal and a warm home again.

It is time to invest in our towns, to bring the pride back to our communities, and to show the forgotten people of this country that their government finally has their back. We have been the world’s "soft touch" for far too long, and the rest of the world has come to expect our generosity as a right rather than a privilege.

If other countries want a single penny of our support, they can start by showing this nation some genuine respect. We should no longer be handing out cash to governments that vote against us at every turn or refuse to take back their own citizens who enter our country illegally.

Aid must be strictly conditional on cooperation, trade, and mutual benefit, rather than being a guilt-driven giveaway. Britain is a great nation with a proud history, but we cannot continue to carry the weight of the world while our own foundations are shaking.

We must put our own families, our own workers, and our own veterans first. The days of the Westminster elite treating our Treasury like a global ATM must come to a definitive and final end.

It is not "selfish" to want your own taxes spent on your own children’s future or your own parents’ healthcare. It is the most basic duty of a sovereign government to look after its own citizens before anyone else.

By cutting aid and investing at home, we aren't just saving money; we are restoring our national self-respect. It’s time to stop apologizing, stop wasting our wealth, and start putting Britain First.
