Scrap the rent madness already

i'm so sick of hearing about the economy growing when i can barely afford my rent, it's like they're speaking a different language. i work part-time in a zero-waste shop and i'm barely scraping by, sharing a flat with three others just to make ends meet. it's not like we're living large or anything, we're just trying to get by without drowning in debt.

i'd change the whole system so that housing is actually affordable for people like me, not just some distant dream. that means rent control, and not just token efforts either, i mean proper controls that stop landlords from price gouging. and we need to be building more social housing, not just luxury flats for people who don't even live here. it's not rocket science, just basic human decency.

the thing that really gets my goat is when politicians talk about the economy like it's some abstract thing that doesn't affect real people.
