My proposal is straightforward: we need a points-based system for all immigration, not just for skilled workers. This means anyone wishing to settle in the UK, regardless of origin or claimed 'asylum', must meet clear criteria. We're talking about basic English language proficiency, a demonstrable history of law-abiding behaviour, and evidence of a genuine job offer or a skill that is demonstrably needed and not already saturated in the domestic workforce. This isn't about being unwelcoming; it's about being responsible and orderly.

The current system is frankly a shambles. We have overwhelmed services, strained communities, and a sense that the rules are being gamed. For years, we've seen a steady stream of people arriving without a clear plan for integration or contribution.
