Stop arming oppressors, it's a Labour issue

I've seen my fair share of trauma as a junior doctor, but nothing compares to the stories I've heard from colleagues who've worked in war zones. The reality is that our goverment's arms sales are contributing to the very conflicts that are putting a strain on our NHS, with victims of war being treated in our hospitals. It's a cruel irony that we're treating the wounds we've helped to inflict.

As someone who was on the picket line during the junior doctor strikes, I know how important it is to stand up for what's right, even if it's unpopular. That's why I'm calling for an immediate halt to arms sales to countries with a proven track record of human rights abuses. This isn't just a moral issue, it's a practical one - every pound we spend on arms sales is a pound that's not being spent on our NHS, on education, or on vital public services.
