What's the point of having an immigration system if it's just going to let people in without making sure they've got a job lined up or a way to support themselves, I mean it's just common sense that you shouldn't be allowed to just turn up and expect everyone else to foot the bill for you.
I think we should introduce a new points-based system that rewards people who've already got a job offer or a solid business plan, that way we can make sure that the people coming in are actually going to contribute to the local economy, and not just put a strain on our already stretched public services. It's not about being anti-immigrant, it's just about being sensible and making sure that we're getting people in who are actually going to make a positive impact.
