Why are we letting anyone and everyone flood into the country without a proper plan? It's like leaving the pub door open on a Saturday night – you end up with all sorts stumbling in. My proposal is simple: we need a skills-based immigration system, no two ways about it. If you've got a trade, a profession, or skills we actually need – like doctors, engineers, or even decent plumbers – then great, come on over and contribute. But the days of open doors for people who can't add to the pot have got to end.
We’ll set clear targets for the types of jobs and skills we're looking for each year, based on what businesses tell us they need. None of this vague 'points system' nonsense that just lets anyone with a degree in something obscure get in. We need people who can fill jobs, pay their way, and integrate properly. Think about it, you wouldn't hire someone for your cab who doesn't know the roads, would you?
