Defence First. Stop Funding Foreign Wars.

Heard some chatter about prioritising our own. Fair enough. But who are ‘our own’? Is it just the folks in civvy street worrying about bills, or does it include the blokes still in uniform, or those who’ve served and are now struggling? Because from where I’m standing, the head shed seems more interested in sending kit and cash overseas than sorting out our own defence readiness.

We’re supposed to be a serious nation, but our army’s stretched thinner than a recruit’s pay packet. We’ve got kit that’s falling apart and not enough boots on the ground to do the job properly. Yet we’re sending millions to who knows where. That’s not prioritising our own; that’s neglecting them.

Instead of splashing cash on foreign adventures, let’s get our own house in order. Proper funding for the armed forces, decent equipment, and a serious look at what support we give our veterans.
