Cut Red Tape, Not Care: Smarter NHS Funding

I get the frustration with NHS waiting lists, believe me. I see it with my own customers too – people worried about their parents’ health or their own. But comparing it to Roman times or suggesting private enterprise is the only answer just isn't practical for a system as complex as ours. My issue isn’t with the doctors and nurses doing amazing work, it’s with the layers of management and the procurement nightmares that seem to swallow up cash.

We need to focus on efficiency within the NHS itself. That means looking at where the money is actually going. Are we buying the right equipment at the best prices? Are administrative roles being streamlined? We could pilot new tech for patient management and appointment booking to cut down on those long waits, and make it easier for smaller, innovative companies to supply services or tech.
