Common Sense Energy Policy: Security, Affordability, and a Realistic Approach to the Environment

The current obsession with abstract Net Zero targets, detached from economic reality, is a disservice to the nation. While I agree that environmental stewardship is important, it cannot come at the expense of working families and the viability of our industries. We need policies that are grounded in practicality and deliver tangible benefits, not aspirational rhetoric that leads to unaffordable energy and threatens our national security.

Our focus must be on ensuring a stable and affordable energy supply. This requires a serious, long-term investment in nuclear power, which offers reliable, low-carbon energy. Alongside this, we should support the development of domestic gas reserves as a necessary transitional fuel.
