What exactly is the point of having borders if anyone can just waltz in and claim benefits before they've even paid a penny into the system? It makes a mockery of everyone who works hard, pays their taxes, and struggles to get by. It’s frustrating to see people coming here and not contributing, while we’re told there’s no money for our own public services or affordable housing.

My proposal is simple: a complete halt to all new immigration, both legal and illegal, for a period of five years. During this time, we’ll focus on getting our own house in order. That means investing in training and jobs for British people, building more actual affordable homes, and sorting out the mess of our welfare system. No more open doors – we need to reset the clock and make sure that if people want to come here, they have a job lined up and can support themselves without draining public funds.

We need a new policy that forces developers to build genuinely affordable housing, not more overpriced shoeboxes. A quarter of every new development has to be social housing, and another quarter has to be at a genuinely affordable rent for people on average wages.

This is what’s killing our towns. Everywhere you look, there are cranes building flats that cost a fortune, and then they sit empty or get snapped up by landlords. Meanwhile, young people and families can’t afford to live anywhere decent in the places they grew up. It’s a joke.

The council should have the power to refuse any planning application that doesn’t meet these strict affordability quotas. If they want to build, they build what people actually need, not just what makes them the most profit. This isn’t rocket science, it’s just about common sense and looking after our own communities for a change.

what's the point of government-funded childcare if people are still getting stung with hidden costs, it's like they're just trying to look good without actually doing anything, you know.

I think we should just make all childcare costs transparent and upfront, no more surprise fees or charges, that way people can actually budget for it without worrying about being ripped off. It's not like it's hard to do, just make all the childcare providers publish their prices and fees online, so people can compare and make informed decisions.

I've got a mate who's got two kids and his missus is going back to work soon, but they're struggling to find childcare that they can afford, it's like the system is designed to keep people in poverty, you know. They're having to choose between paying the rent or paying for childcare, it's not right.

It’s all well and good talking about community safety but the real problem is too many people coming here and causing trouble in the first place. If we actually sorted out who’s allowed in and who isn’t, a lot of these issues would sort themselves out. Why are we spending money trying to manage the symptoms when we’re not dealing with the cause?

We need to get back to basics. Stop the open door immigration policy that’s clearly not working. That means making it much harder for people to come here unless they’ve got a genuine skill we need and aren’t going to expect the taxpayer to fund them. Then we can redirect some of that money we’re wasting on processing endless claims to actually beef up the police on the streets.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t have community groups, but they shouldn’t be a substitute for proper law and order.

Yeah I read that bit about teachers fighting to get climate change lessons in. Honestly, I reckon they’ve got bigger things to worry about. Kids leaving school should know how to do a proper job, not just how to hug a tree. My mate Dave’s lad finished college and can’t even change a tyre. That’s the sort of uselessness we’re breeding.

We’ve got enough pressure on schools already with maths and English. Instead of filling their heads with doom and gloom about the planet, which let's face it, most of it is made up anyway by people who want to tax us more, they should be learning practical stuff. Trades, how to fix things, how to actually earn a living so they don't end up on benefits like some people I know. That’s what’s pressing.

And all this talk about "environmental education" sounds like another way to push woke nonsense. It's always the same people telling us we're ruining the planet.

I'm sick of putting stuff in the recycling bin and wondering if it's actually getting recycled or just ending up in some landfill in another country. It's like nobody knows what's going on and it's all a bit of a joke. I've got a mate who works for the council and he says it's a nightmare trying to get people to follow the rules.

I'd change the system so it's simpler, just a few types of plastic and glass and paper, that's it. None of this confusion about what type of plastic or if the glass is the right color. And I'd make sure that everything that's collected actually gets recycled, not just shipped off to some other country to deal with. I've read somewhere that a lot of our recycling ends up in places like China or India and it's just dumped.

I'd also make companies pay for the recycling of their own packaging, that way they've got a vested interest in making it easy to recycle.

I'm sick of forking out a fortune to commute to work, it's like they're having a laugh, my train fare is more than my car insurance and that's just not right. I've got a mate who drives to London every day and he's paying less than me to get there, it's a joke.

I'd change the whole system, get rid of these complicated fare structures and just have a flat rate, you know, like a tenner to go wherever you want, that way it's fair for everyone. I mean, what's the point of having all these different types of tickets and discounts, it's just a way for them to confuse people and take more money.

I've been looking at this and it seems like other countries manage to do it, they've got simple ticketing systems and affordable fares, so why can't we, it's not like we're asking for the moon here.

Saw this advert the other day for some new drone thing the RAF supposedly needs. Cost billions, apparently. Made me think about our lads out there, or even just our own borders. It’s all well and good having fancy tech but what’s the point if we can’t actually project power or even secure our own shores properly? Feels like we’re throwing money at problems without actually solving them.

We need to be focusing on what actually matters for national security. That means having enough troops, properly equipped, and ready to go. It means investing in things that give us a real strategic advantage, not just the latest shiny gadget that’ll be obsolete in five years. Think about our Navy – it’s a joke compared to what it used to be. We need ships that can actually patrol and defend our interests, not just ceremonial vessels.

This isn't about being aggressive, it’s about being realistic.

This junior doctor bloke has got a point about where the money goes, but he's looking at it all wrong. It’s not about selling weapons, it’s about the government pouring billions into pointless conflicts and foreign aid that never seems to help anyone back here. We’re supposed to be looking after our own people first, not funding wars or helping countries that probably hate us anyway.

Think about it, all that cash spent on defending other people's borders or sending aid packages that get nicked by warlords. That money could be fixing our roads, building more houses so people like me can actually afford to buy one, or making sure our energy bills don't bankrupt us every winter. The NHS is struggling because it's underfunded, sure, but so is everything else in this country that actually matters to working people.

We shouldn't be involved in every scrap going on around the world.

The government needs to immediately scrap the legally binding net zero targets. These targets are completely unrealistic and are costing ordinary people a fortune through higher energy bills and taxes. We're being forced to pay for expensive green technology that doesn't even work reliably, while other countries are just carrying on as normal. It’s madness.

Instead of chasing these impossible climate goals, we should focus on practical things that actually help people and the environment. That means investing in reliable energy sources, like nuclear and even properly supporting North Sea gas for a while longer. It also means actually looking after our own countryside and coastline, not just lecturing everyone about carbon footprints.

We could fund this by cutting the insane amount of money being poured into green schemes that benefit a few rich companies and consultants.
